Wow, just an amazing place, what a vieuw. The staff is really nice. The food was really good, and even had a lovely birthday chocolate cake. In the middle of nowhere, with an amazing sunset. Go there, with your eyes closed. Love it

Nothing, just perfect...

Remote lodge in spectacular setting

9.0

The turn off from the main gravel road is a 6 km slow and challenging drive.. But it's so worth the effort when you arrive as they lodge setting in the valley of a thousand hills is really spectacular. A remote and stunningly beautiful landscape with simple but adequate lodges. The host and staff are very welcoming and friendly.

Lighting in the lodge works on solar so it's pretty dim but we had torches to aid us.

Valley Lodge is a favourite destination and this time I booked longer and really enjoyed my space.

As a returning guest I knew why I wanted to stay longer here before continuing on my journey. The location is fabulous and the photo opportunities numerous with lovely light and sunsets and sunrises.

There is nothing that would make me not to return again.

Nice views

7.0

I booked the bungalow with breakfast and dinner at this property. The views are stunning from the bedroom, the main lodge building and restaurant, and from the bathroom window as well LOL It is a short 10 minute drive from the main road with a decent path possible with a sedan or regular car. Only the last part up to the lodge is very steep. There are several side quests on the road if you enjoy short walks to a lone tree in the desert. I did and I saw some nice birds. Just follow the little white signs. It's very nice. The room is nice and comfortable but a bit basic. It would have been nice to have a coffee station, outlets to charge items (you can do that at the lodge only) or wifi. I did have MTC cell phone data in the bungalow and there is wifi at the lodge. Shower is warm with a nice view. The bed sleeps comfortable. There are extra blankets. The nighttime view of the milkyway is absolutely stunning. They prepared vegetarian meals for me. The pineapple pie was actually very good. Breakfast is made to order. The host is kind and can give good tips on the area and the animals that can be seen, depending on the season. The lady who works the kitchen is also very kind and helpful. Overall I thought the price was a bit too high for what was offered, but it is worth a stay for the nice views and the experience of tranquility.
