Enjoyed our time but would not stay there again

5.0

Beautiful location and garden; the cottage is very cute from the outside, the bed was comfy and clean and its lovely watching the birds (and bats) in the garden.

No tv and this is not mentioned at all in the advertising so we just assumed there would be one. The cottage, which we realise is very old, was damp and fusty smelling and you are greeted by some old shoes, boots and slippers as you come through the door, which is a bit disconcerting. It needs a good clear out of all the stuff left here by people who have stayed before and a lot of TLC. Its also a bit odd to see pictures of the owners relatives (grandkids?) up on the walls and there are dusty old dead spiders and cobwebbs everywhere. Good luck finding the switch for the hot water, its hidden behind a card near the kettle btw...also not mentioned anywhere.

Disappointing

4.0

Very old, quaint cottage, in the most peaceful of areas. Great for walkers. Fab pub called The Stag Inn, in the village of Dufton. Great directions from the owner, which takes you to the door. Good off-road parking. Good WiFi signal.

I've never seen so many cobwebs in one property!!! Too many personal belongings, in the lounge and smells of damp! The property has NO TV. I didn't see that on the booking. Luckily, we had Alexa with us for tunes!!
