We had a wonderful stay at Houseboat Wild Rose. The houseboat was clean, comfortable, and the hospitality was excellent throughout our stay. Ibrahim and Faizan are amazing hosts—friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. They organized our day trips and a trekking tour, which was one of the highlights of our visit. Faizan is very knowledgeable about trekking in Kashmir and an experienced guide. He shared interesting information about the mountains, local culture, and the region throughout our trip, making the experience even more special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable stay, genuine hospitality, and unforgettable trekking and travel experiences in Kashmir.

I originally booked Houseboat Wild Rose for just one night, but I loved my stay so much that I ended up staying for an entire week! The hospitality was exceptional from start to finish. Faizan was a wonderful host, and Ibrahim was also incredibly kind, friendly, and always ready to help. They organized amazing sightseeing day trips, a peaceful boat ride, and even arranged a fantastic 4-day trekking adventure, which became one of the highlights of my trip. Everything was well planned and made my visit to Kashmir truly unforgettable. The home-cooked food was absolutely delicious—fresh, authentic, and prepared with great care every day. The houseboat offers a calm and relaxing atmosphere with breathtaking views of the mountains, the lake, and birds all around. Waking up to such peaceful surroundings was simply magical. I highly recommend Houseboat Wild Rose to anyone visiting Srinagar. Thank you, Faizan and Ibrahim, for making me feel at home and creating such an unforgettable experience. I will definitely be back!

Schönes Hausboot mitten in der Natur mit fürsorglichen Gastgebern

Ibrahim und Faizan waren sehr gute Gastgeber. Sie haben uns auch geholfen Ausflüge zu organisieren. Die Lage des Hausbootes war aussergewöhnlich, kein anderes Boot neben dem Hausboot, die Natur konnte genossen werden. Glücklicherweise wurde kein Motorboot für die Fortbewegung genutzt sonder nur das Paddel. Das Essen war aussergewöhnlich gut und frisch zubereitet. Von Amin wurden wir aufmerksam betreut. Die traditionelle Inneneinrichtung bot einen speziellen Charme. Der Aufenthalt auf der Terrasse war besonders am Morgen und am Abend sehr schön.

− Die Beschreibung der Unterkunft ist nicht ganz korrekt, es gibt kein Whirlpool/Jacuzzi und auch kein Meerblick. Einen Kinderspielplatz habe ich auch nicht gesehen. Aber für uns war es perfekt.

Sehr schöner Aufenthalt, super schöne Terasse zum Entspannen und nette Leute:)

We absolutely loved our stay on Houseboat Wild Rose. The view from the houseboat was just stunning with the mountains, the lake, the water lillies and the myriad birds circling the sky and on the lake. Because it is located further away from the hubbub of the lake, it was serene and soothing. We loved the peace and quiet of the lake, broken only by bird calls and the croaking of the frogs. Breakfast is simple and tasty - eggs and delicious Kashmiri bread. We had dinners on the boat and the food was fresh and tasty. On our last evening, we requested Wazwan dishes which were arranged for us. The rooms are adequate and what you would expect in a houseboat. It was cosy and we enjoyed sleeping with the windows open. We loved relaxing on the deck with our books and coffee and noon chai ( delicious!). Amir who served us was attentive and prompt with everything we requested. Faizan was courteous and prompt with bookings, queries and suggestions. Both of them along with the cook who made our meals, the shikara boatman, and the owner Ibrahim ensured we had a pleasant stay. Kashmir is a beautiful place with beautiful people. We loved our first trip to the state and we hope to visit again. Highly recommend this place!

− Some minor suggestions - to have washable covers for the deck furniture and cushions. They do look worn out so having removable, washable covers will keep it looking clean and tidy. The commode could be cleaned better. The wifi is patchy and power outages are frequent (at least during our stay) so come prepared for this and you will not be able to use appliances like a hair dryer. But these are minor things which did not detract from the overall lovely experience we had here.
