Une homestay absolument incroyable ! Elle est située au bord de la mangrove, sur un plateau corallien isolé de tout. Il n’y a personne à des kilomètres à la ronde, ce qui rend l’expérience vraiment unique et totalement immersive. Le confort est rustique, mais largement suffisant : un vrai lit, une moustiquaire et un hamac sur la terrasse avec une vue incroyable sur les fonds marins. Le snorkeling juste devant la chambre est tout simplement exceptionnel, au niveau des spots que l’on vous recommande partout sur internet à Raja Ampat. Nous sommes restés cinq jours et, à chaque fois, nous étions émerveillés. Depuis le ponton, vous pouvez également observer de petits requins, des raies et une multitude de poissons ainsi que trois immense bénitier au pied du ponton. La nourriture est généreuse et nous avons eu du poisson frais à quasiment tous les repas. Ils chassent eux-mêmes au harpon et sont vraiment impressionnants ! Nous avons même eu la chance de participer à deux sessions de chasse avec eux, une expérience incroyable. Le soir, vous pouvez profiter d’un petit concert avec des instruments fabriqués à la main. Ils adorent également jouer aux cartes : n’hésitez pas à en ramener, vous passerez de très bons moments avec eux ! Si vous recherchez une expérience authentique, immersive et totalement isolée du reste du monde, c’est clairement l’endroit où aller. Pour les excursions, ils peuvent vous emmener où vous le souhaitez : n’hésitez pas à leur demander ce qu’ils proposent. Merci du fond du cœur à Frengki Mormor Cheater, Gendri mormor, rilo taf taf, Elsa et Eta pour votre accueil. Nous nous sommes sentis incroyablement bien chez vous et nous garderons un souvenir inoubliable de notre séjour.

Le personnel est top. Les fonds marins sont beaux, il y avait des bébés requins sous les bungalows

− La nourriture n'est pas top, il manquerait des fruits surtout au petit déjeuner, car il n'y a pas grand chose. Nous avions faim

We spent several nights at Korbekwan in early July and it delivered exactly what we were looking for: a real homestay, not a resort. We stayed in one of the huts built right on the water facing the mangrove forest, and lived alongside the family who runs the place. Weather was kind to us — dry, a bit cloudy, no rain the whole stay. Getting there: Transport is by speedboat from Waisai. It can get wet if the wind picks up, so dress accordingly. The same boat doubles as your transport for daily excursions. Rooms: The traditional huts are simple and a little worn, but perfectly fine, and stayed dry throughout our stay. Nights are loud with wind and waves, but that's genuinely part of the charm — combined with the moonlight over the water, it's beautiful rather than bothersome. Bathroom: Built on stilts over the mangrove — basic, but as clean as a structure like that can realistically be. Power & connectivity: Only available from sunset to around 10pm. It sounds like a downside on paper but it actually adds to how remote and disconnected (in a good way) the place feels. Food: This is the one area that needs some flexibility. The family only makes supply trips to town a couple of times a month in low season, and windy weather can keep them from fishing, so meals can get a bit repetitive. That said, the fish they do serve is excellent and usually plentiful, and we had chicken on one occasion — worth asking about in advance if that matters to you. Our two teenagers happily ate everything put in front of them, for what that's worth. The real highlight — day trips: Arborek and Manta Point — a lovely small village with beaches, a little market for snacks and drinks, and a couple of beach bars serving cold beer and coconut water. Piaynemo and Yeben Island — a long boat ride but completely worth it. We had the island to ourselves and ate lunch under the trees. Easy to combine with Citrus Island on the way back.

Ruhig und idyllisch mit perfekten Hausriff

Die Unterkunft liegt super und hat ein wahnsinnig tolles Hausriff in dem man Mantas, Schildkröten, Riffhai, Rochen, Riesenmuscheln und unzählig viele bunte Fische sehen kann. Mit etwas Glück sieht man sogar Sternschnuppen, die Milchstraße und Fluoriszierendes Plankton. Der Fisch für die Mahlzeiten wird jeden Tag frisch gefangen und echt lecker zubereitet. Die Abholung in Wasai war reibungslos. Auf dem Weg zum Homestay wurde sogar angehalten um uns einem Mantarochen zu zeigen. Die Ausflüge waren toll und es war immer ein Guide dabei. Der Bootstransfair in ein anderws Homestax wurde ohne Probleme möglich gemacht. Was auch richtig toll war, war dass die Familie am letzten abend Musik gemacht hat und schöne Pauanisch Lieder gesungen hat.

− Eine Preisliste wäre sehr hilfreich. Dinge die man wissen muss: Bei diesem Homestay gibt es keine Möglichkeit an Land zu gehen. Für alles wird ein Boot benötigt. KEIN Strand. Es gibt daher nur 3 Gästebungalos (neue werden gebaut) sowie das Haus der Familie mit 7 Männern, 2 Frauen und 4 Kindern.
