Clean and quirky house but with a few missing elements

We liked the quirky charm of the place, the sash windows were novel if a little hard to open/keep open. The location was perfect for our needs, but the road itself is very busy. The beds were comfy and made up for us when we arrived including the requested travel cot.

− The bathroom needs either an update or a rethink. It goes with the age of the house, the shower is an old fashioned one that you set the temp by the taps and then switch the water to come out of the shower head. Only water runs down the hose if you hook it up to the wall and floods the floor. The sink taps so a similar thing but water leaks through the surround and into the cupboard below. The stairs are very steep and uneven, as we had a toddler with us, we were careful to not let her attempt them, but older members of our party also struggled. The ground floor is also on several levels which makes it less safe for little ones and older people to navigate. The bathroom door is glazed, which offers no privacy too. The kitchen has the bare essentials, but it is missing a few vital bits (kitchen scissors, baking tray, oven gloves, coffee (some tea and sugar was provided). There is also no instructions for any appliances, so we managed to work the oven and microwave, by trial and error. We didn't use the dishwasher (nothing provided) or the washing machine or even the tv as we didn't need to, but it would have been guess work. No local information provided about the area or nearby attractions. We didn't need this, but a lot of places provide this as standard.

Lovely modern cottage which was nice and clean. The beds were some of the comfiest I've ever slept on. Seen some reviews about the house being quite basic, but for us it came with the expected - bedding, towels, toilet roll, dishwasher tablets and so on! There is a community shop & post office conveniently over the road that sells everything you need to get by. House was a short cab ride from both Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells train stations.

A Lovely Cottage that needs to be Loved.

The beds were extremely comfortable and the cottage was a great size. The location for our stay was ideal. The heating worked well. The host was very informative.

− The cottage furnishings seemed sparse. The owners are obviously selling as it's no longer available on the site. It wasn't a home away from home, which was a pity as the cottage could be amazing. Basics that we've had before such as an Iron was not available. Hopefully the new owners will fill it with lovely things and make it a warm friendly home again. The road was very busy with at times some very fast traffic, noisy quite late and early morning. Plus there was a construction going on next to the cottage but lucki y we were out quite early.

The road was very tight with cars parked on one side making it extremely tight to get through.

− The dining table was very unstable very wonky needs fixing Kitchen cupboards not all clean Cupboard in drawer in front bedroom with double bed had wood worm you could see the dust where the wood worm was live. The stairs were very steep my 81yr old mother had to be helped down every time she came down from bed. This should be noted and stated in the house description we would not have stayed at the cottage if we had known the stairs were this steep are not suitable for elderly.

Lovely house and very accommodating host. Would definitely recommend staying here.
