Perfect base in a gorgeous converted barn in a lovely small village.
10.0A great stay in a beautiful converted barn. Well situated in a lovely village, pub and shop 20 metres one way and a lovely walk over the hills to Pooley Bridge in the other direction. Only a few miles into Pooley Bridge if driving. Perfect spot for exploring Ullswater and around this side of the lakes. Barn is stunning (a lot of work involved if you look at the before and after book in the property), a lovely modern twist on the work done. Bedrooms were great, bathrooms very well presented. Property was lovely and clean, wifi works well. Communication prior to the stay was great and easy to follow. Can't wait to come back, thank you :)
− My personal preference is harder pillows, so if you're like me you may want to bring your own (which I didn't), but the beds were very comfy just my personal preference on the pillows.

Very peaceful and relaxing
9.0Fantastic 4 night stay at Cattle Cake Cottage. We loved the quality bathrooms and kitchen. The beds were really comfortable and the added touch of the Bose speaker and Bluetooth mirror were great. The book showing the renovations was really interesting. We had excellent information from the owners by email. There is a small shop a few minutes away and walks over to Ullswater right outside the door. A perfect location. Highly recommended for a relaxing break
− The only possible comments would be a place to hang coats at the entrance and generally some extra hanging space for clothes. We also felt the lounge and front door needed some curtains or blinds in order to feel fully relaxed at night time with the cottage being overlooked by a few properties. Unfortunately nothing could be done about the July weather!

9.0A little quirky with high quality fittings bedding and thoughtful touches like towels
− Would have liked an en-suite upstairs rather than bathroom downstairs as we were there with grandchild who was sleeping in our room which needed to be upstairs due to sofa bed being utilised.
Fantastic stay, everything was immaculate, plenty of parking and a fantastic area. Hosts were fantastic and very helpful
