A hotel with convenient location, friendly service, and good value
7.0I stayed at Salaam Suites Hotel for two nights, from 14 to 16 July 2026, and overall I had a pleasant experience. The hotel offers good value for money, especially if you’re looking for an affordable place to stay in Kota Bharu. The staff were one of the highlights of my stay. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and informative, making the check-in process and my overall stay smooth. The hotel’s location is another major advantage. It is strategically located close to the bus terminal, restaurants, and many of Kota Bharu’s main attractions, making it convenient to explore the city without traveling far. For the price, the hotel provides good value compared to some other hotels in the area. All the facilities worked as expected, the room layout was practical, and the bathroom was surprisingly spacious. I also appreciated the large number of power outlets available, which made it easy to charge multiple electronic devices at the same time.
− There were a few downsides, however. The hot water did not work consistently, which was disappointing. Although my room had a window, the view was just a wall, so there was no natural scenery or meaningful daylight. Breakfast was not included in the room rate, and the hotel requires a RM50 refundable deposit upon check-in. Additionally, the key card (door chip) for my room did not work during my stay, so I had to use the manual key instead.
