The linen was really comfortable

− Whilst I applaud the owners intent, the execution doesn’t compare to a motel. The owner has taken a 4 bedroom home and split it into 3 separate areas. We had the front bedroom with ensuite. For us this wasn’t comparable to a motel room. There was not enough space. No separate seating and It was tight around the bed, there were no cooking facilities, only a kettle on top of a bar fridge in the corner of the bedroom. There was no free to air TV chalked and the smart TV didn’t even have the standard suite of catch up mainstream TV apps. The heating was central heating, controlled by another section of the house and the only cooling was a fan. There was also a lot of road noise from the trucks as the house is in the town bypass. There could have been better communication from the owner. I had to ask what the entrance procedure was. Never received instructions for exiting the property and unbeknownst to me there were specific areas to park. This also was not communicated upfront and one point I was requested to return and move my car for another person who had access to the garage.

The place is quite new, as are the facilities. Parking was easy and convenient.

− The “welcome” provided ranges from mean to bizarre. Mean aspects include no chairs - nowhere to sit except on the bed (or toilet); no tourist information whatsoever; no facial tissues; no top sheet (under the quilt); no air-conditioning in our room (not needed for our visit, but would be an expectation). The bizarre aspects we encountered were a single plate, bowl and cup for a booking explicitly for two people; a microwave that was unable to be plugged in without moving furniture; a new, sophisticated television that required detailed attention to the instructions to even get a modicum of normal functionality (I suspect the owners have never turned it on and tried to use it).
