A super cute traditional cottage. Everything was perfect. Although it's a bit far from the island's main attractions, it's easy to get to. The owner is a nice guy and also runs a car rental company.

Unforgettable experience

we met with the owner and he drove us to the cottage. he gave us tips for what to see he stopped on our way to show us access to different beaches! there was a book guide at home for various sightseeing and interesting places, services etc. It was very comfortable and well equipped (they even had a small pharmacy box in the house for easy first aid things!) as a residence, and it was isolated giving us privacy and true vacation feeling away from the touristic spots! They had prepared some fruits in the fridge and a basket for breakfast. We had some "visitors", like cats and goats that visit us regularly and made our day! Water pressure was amazing in the shower even though it s a rare find in the greek islands! And an even bigger plus is that they provided with a uv umbrella for the beach and extra towels for the beach too! Definitely one of my best experiences as a greek person on an island and we will for sure come back!

− The only thing to note is that the last part of the road is under construction and you would benefit from a higher car but the owner can help to find a suitable vehicle! But this retract nothing from our amazing experience but it is worth mentioning if you are a person with mobility issues.

Absolutely amazing!

The cottage is absolutely lovely, clean and full of comforts. You can cook, listen to music and have very quiet nights, relaxing and looking at the stars. It could happen some goats or cats drop by searching for food and we loved it. Be aware that it takes about 8 km of dusty road to get to the cottage, which is far around 45 minutes from the port. You must buy groceries every day! We would suggest to rent a 4X4 suv. We rented a 50cc scooter and we managed to visit almost everything with lot of fun. Anyway, if you are not an expert driver, don't rent either a scooter or a small car, even because in that part of the island, which is almost desert, you won't be insured! I would recommend Gourgas Cottage to everyone who likes wilder experiences on holiday!
