When you make a booking for a room and it gets changed without any warning to smaller inferior room?

− The fact that we booked and paid for a large room with pool access and views and garden and got a second floor apartment over some service shops on a main road. We had to walk 300 metres to use the pool in the apartment facility we had booked and paid for. Because we has]d our pet with us we booked the larger room and with garden access to facilitate us all...The night was uncomfortable due to the lack of space and we slept poorly. When asked why we did not get the room we had booked we, at first were told we had and then when the hotel staff realised she said because a family wanted it so we were changed to the smaller room. Rather than face another night like that we decided to leave and so we left, our weekend plans ruined and the second night ,paid for in full and nothing to show for it and no offer of a refund or partial refund! Shame because the room was excellently prepared and super clean but it was not what we wanted or booked and paid for!!!
