− During our stay there was no power around 30% of the time, off which one time 16 hours. Also at night you have no fan, so it is hot and humid inside. We heard neighbouring cocks and dogs making noise all night long, and without a fan we heard all of it. So a generator or other power backup would be a solution. Many hostals had a generator. So during outages there is also no lights, no hot shower, no wifi, no 3g/4g. After our stay we send message of the power-out to the host, but they offered no compensation, because this is an external issue beyond their control, which we don't agree with, because power outages happen regularly in Lanquin. They were sorry for the inconvience, that this can happen and that there is a torch and candles when there is a power outage. If we knew this in advance we would not have booked Casa Cacao. Also the bathroom is outside. So if you dont like insects, its a problem. The finishing could be better. Like sealant or something similar in gaps near the windows and near the bathroom door. We had spiders (a huge one) and a cockroach visiting the bathroom.
