The worst vacation rental experience we've ever had...and we travel a lot!

Location was the only thing

− This was one of the worst hotel/vacation stays I've ever experienced, and I am a frequent traveler (6-8x a year). The RV/trailer was inhabitable with a torn, very worn mattress, mouse droppings on the dining room table, severe water damage that meant very soft flooring in certain spots, and broken door that would not completely close. The 'house' had no private bedroom (a curtain around the bed doesn't mean it's a bedroom), and the refrigerator in the house did not cool properly and we lost food that we had brought down. The home, as well, was not cleaned thoroughly (spider webs, toothpaste stain in sink, disorganized and dirty storage area, garbage stuffed in the sofa bed). Not a single square of toilet paper was provided, only one towel for the four of us, and other basics were not included as advertised. We were in touch with the host prior to our arrival, and her property manager. When we arrived in town, we referred to the directions on Booking that took us to the center of Troncones - the property was not there. It took some effort on our part to find the actual property, 5 miles out of town. There was a chain link fence across the entrance that we had to pull back like a gate - this was in the dark, and there were no lights on the property. The property manager stated that he would be there in 8 minutes, but didn't arrive for almost 1/2 hour. When he arrived, he was not friendly at all, and didn't know the entry code to the property, the wifi code, nor other basics. We were standing in a small house for the four of us, and we asked about the the second bedroom that is in the listing. He pointed to the dirty sofa bed and mentioned the trailer, and just shrugged. When he left, and we went into the trailer, we were appalled. I did send photos that I took to the property owner and stated that we were not satisfied with the condition or description of the property. She promised a full refund, but later reversed her stance.
