Lovely location, staff we met were so lovely and helpful. Unfortunately there seemed to be a bit of disorganisation over
8.0Very fresh feeling, dog friendly. Accessible room was very spacious
− As lovely as the fan provided was it was pretty dirty/dusty. We also had some problems finding the correct entrance as all at nav’s took us to a locked gate. Some issues with disorganisation, room numbers not given, things that were only told to one couple and not the other.
A cosy relaxing feel to the stable
7.0Breakfast was amazing Bedding was luxurious
− No disabled toilet in bar area
Had a wonderful time. All the staff were pleasant and polite and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable a
9.0Clean, luxurious and staff were amazing. Great facilities with the pool and sauna and the food and bar staff were also great
− No air conditioning
Highly recommended, so relaxing.
9.0Easy to check in and plenty of parking at the club and the accommodation. Gorgeous surroundings, looking out across a stunning golf course. The Stables are beautifully kept, spacious, light, bright and clean with comfy beds, great shower and felt safe and secure. Staff were fantastic, helpful and friendly, swimming pool and spa was very nice and pool was a great temperature. Breakfast in the club house was tasty and a good selection, very filling, scrambled eggs and salmon on toast, full English etc. Generous portions, we couldn't finish.
− Honestly it was gorgeous, no complaints. If you like a dark room in the morning bring an eye mask to sleep in as it's very light and bright, but we loved that. Also you need your own towels for the swimming pool which is fine, but it's then difficult to get anything dried, more hooks to hang wet things from would have been helpful.
It was a restful night because l only stayed for a night
9.0I like the accommodation and everything .
− The location is great but too much for me
Definitely NOT five star. Very disappointing.
4.0Breakfast on the first day, Monday was good also the pizza served on the second evening, Tuesday was excellent, well done Chef. Breakfast on the second day, Tuesday had to be returned as the poached eggs were hard. The second attempt was only slightly better but by then I needed to eat something. This is not a five star venue as described in the booking narrative. The restaurant is really just a bar cafeteria for the golf club, with a menu to match. The accommodation is in a building ten minutes walk from the main building. When we arrived it was not clear where we had to go. Asking at the reception, which is really just the golf shop, I was given directions to the stables only to find nobody there. There is no clear signage. I returned to the main building, asked someone else and was directed to the golf shop. There I saw the same person as before who said" Sorry I thought you were just picking someone up, I didn't realise you wanted to check in!!"
− The room did not have a fridge, safe or telephone line to reception, despite claiming five star status. The shutters on the window did not stop light coming into the room at 5am, when I woke up - curtains are needed. There were only four hangers in the wardroom. The bar closed at 9pm just as we went in. At 9.01pm I asked if I could have two glasses of wine to take to the room. The response was "Our tills are switched off" Really! One member of staff said " The accommodation is normally used by people at the weddings so we don't need a bar, there's a High Street and a Pub nearby" Some staff need training for five star hospitality if that is what you intend to offer, otherwise stick with what you have which is just accommodation at a golf club for wedding guests.
