We were on board of the Santa Marina in April and so, we had the rare opportunity to spend a few days on this beautiful place. We had been traveling for months and experienced various types of accommodation, yet the Santa Marina impressed us the most. It’s a sailing ship built entirely of wood, lovingly and authenticly restored. The interesting construction is also based on a historical model. „The old lady“ is anchored directly on the Danube, where we could relax on deck while watching the passing river traffic, from small speedboats to massive impressive container ships, being gently rocked by neverending soft waves. So it’s a truly blissful setting for unwinding and destressing. The very friendly host, Gheorghe, is also the captain of the Santa Marina. In addition to serving us a truly excellent coffee, he also gave us a little taste of some other delicious Romanian culinary delights. Aside from that, he kindly helped us to communicate with the boat operators, provided various tips about Sulina and patiently answered all our questions. Finally, the Santa Marina is situated on the edge of Sulina, so you can enjoy absolute peace and quiet from the trouble of the town. Not far away, a path runs along a waterway in the delta, offering a little look to the local nature. The beach of the Black Sea at the other end of Sulina is also accessible and still retains a natural, unspoiled feel. There are plenty of other interesting and funny things to do in Sulina and the Danube Delta. For us, however, one of the best things was just staying on the Santa Marina and relaxing. Simply the best place to be :)

O experiență de neratat

Dacă îți ajustezi un pic așteptările pentru ceea ce reprezintă locația, sejurul pe Santa Marina este cu adevărat o experiență unică, nu pot decât să recomand oricui câteva zile petrecute aici. Căpitanul este, de asemenea, un tip foarte deschis și de ajutor, chiar ne-am simțit ca acasă pe corabie. Mulțumim și sperăm să revenim!

− Ambarcațiunea este foarte mica și jegoasa la propriu, niște cearșafuri îmbâcsit puse direct pe burete , nu husa nu nimic, pe patul de jos un fel de mușama, păianjeni, miros groaznic zici ca acolo locuiesc oamenii strazii, nici urma de aer condiționat, un simplu ventilator deasupra patului, zona de living și bucătărie imbacsita, lipicioasă, dezordine totala, miros greu, nu mai vorbesc de zona din jurul bărcii o ghena cu tot felul de ambalaje și mizerii împrejur, pozele sunt de cel puțin 5 ani, mai verificați între timp , ne am stricat sejurul, dacă nu găseam alta cazare ,dormeam pe strada.

Truly an exceptional experience. If you’re looking for a 5 star hotel, this is not the place for you. You will however miss out on stunning sunsets and sunrises, outstanding natural beauty, warm people and excellent conversation.

− A bit difficult on tall people - our friend is over 1:95 and couldn’t stand up straight. But you’re not there to stay in the cabin.

Gazdă primitoare, spații comune funcționale și cu farmec. Punctul gastronomic local situat la cel mult două minute distanță e de neratat și aduce un plus neîndoios locației. Băiatul nostru de 10 ani a plâns când a trebuit să plecăm, ceea ce bănuiesc că înseamnă că va trebui să revenim, lucru care nu-mi displace defel.
