A great option for the right people
8.0The host is spectacularly good with excellent communication and very helpful. The setting is beautiful and we enjoyed the lamas being so curious about us.
− The pond right outside the apartment is very picturesque, but we did get some quite bad insect bites as a result. The bed was comfortable and although small, the apartment is all 2 people need for a short stay. All I would say is that it isn't really suitable for older people as the stairs are basically a fancy ladder and there's so little headroom in the bedroom you have to move about on your hands and knees. I'm a reasonable fit 60 year old and I coped OK, though I was a bit nervous on the stairs. My wife isn't quite as agile and struggled a bit more.

10.0Secluded away in the middle of a big area of farm land. Our host Hilde, had prepared the fire for our arrival. The cottage itself is slap bang in the middle of her farm, with a few neighbours in the form of sheep, goats, chickens, cats and alpacas. Beautifully quiet with just the sounds of nature to keep you company. A perfect escape for anyone looking to take themselves away from the hustle and bustle. There is a fridge and an electric hob provided. The upstairs bed area is tight but comfy. Roads are good, with easy access to Popringe, Ypres and the Abbey of Sint Sixtus at Westvleteren. . Don't trust Google maps when arriving, it told us to turn right into a field. Take a left if coming from main road, the farm splits into two roads, you want to be on the left path. Highly recommended.
