Exceptional cottage with great views

The cottage is situated in a peaceful location. The owner provided a warm welcome and showed us around. The welcome basket of goodies was perfect and saw us through breakfast. It included cake, wine, cereal, milk, fruit juice, biscuits and Kendal mint cake. Everything was spotlessly clean and the cottage was thoughtfully equipped. We had everything we needed and more. The beds were comfortable with crisp bed linen. Ample space for clothing and hanging space is provided. The lounge area upstairs provided stunning views of the hills in the distance. Having the kitchen upstairs too meant coffee or breakfast at the dining table or on the balcony were enjoyable experiences. Essentials like salt, pepper, vinegar, tea coffee and sauces were provided . Downstairs a small lounge leads to a beautiful garden, providing privacy, peace and quiet. This cottage provided a memorable and comfortable stay.wuth easy access to the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. A perfect location.

− If you want to dine in the garden you need to bring the meal down stairs. We were not bothered by this though..

The cottage we stayed in was excellent. Comfortable, very clean, wifi. Pretty well kept garden. About ½hr walk into kendall. Would highly recommend it to anyone visiting this area.

The weather was fabulous but that didn't overshadow the quality of the accommodation, which was excellent. Key collection was simple, there was a store for our bikes and car rack. The 'upside' house was spotless and very well decorated. The lounge and balcony had fabulous views of the hills and a perfectly aligned sunset. We had a very enjoyable stay and would highly recommend it.

− There was nothing we didn't like to be fair. As we had a hybrid car it would have been great if we could have charged it but given the parking is on the opposite side of a shared drive we can see that is not a simple task to install - plus we knew before we came that there would not be a charging point.

Better than expected

Better equipped than we were expecting, fantastic attention to detail throughout and we were set up with a litre of milk, orange juice, porridge sachets and plenty of tea and coffee, so we didn't have to rush to the shops for our first breakfast. There were also other goodies to enjoy during our stay. Loved the Christmas decorations, made our early Christmas all the more special!!!

Lovely quiet location on the outskirts of town

The living room upstairs was really light and warm and the beds were comfortable. The setting was close enough to town to go out in the evening without needing to drive and the mature garden was glorious. The care package when we got there was a lovely touch.

− The key collection & tour around the property was very formal at the start - all information was already in the booklet - and we felt quite aware throughout the stay that the owner lived next door!
