9.0A lovely country inn with oodles of character, a nice bar and beer garden as well as a nice breakfast room. A spacious and stylish room - with massive reservations about the bathroom arrangement - and a comfy bed.
− Our overnight stay here was during the third heatwave of this summer and the windows could not be opened! The Dyson fan did not oscillate but anyway it merely circulated the hot air around the room! 🥵 Our room - Room 2 - was to the front of the building overlooking a busy junction with the noise of passing traffic penetrating the single-glazed windows, and waking us up, from 5am onwards. There was nowhere to hang used towels - a Victorian style towel rack would have been very useful, and the unusual arrangement of the bathroom facilities being sited directly in the room (although the toilet cubicle was in a separate and very small "cupboard") was quite impractical with water splashing on the floorboards but also because the light for the shower was linked to that of the toilet cubicle and came on automatically when the toilet light was switched on. Thus one partner was disturbed when the other one got up to use the toilet during the night!
Lovely stay with wonderful staff and beautiful breakfast. Room was very comfortable and will definitely stay again..
10.0Lovely old building with sloping floors in our bedroom (room 7)with creaky floor boards and a four poster bed who gave the room character. Although looking out over the roundabout on a busy road the secondary double glazing completely cut the road noise out. Ear plugs were supplied but we didn’t need them.
− Couldn’t fault any part of the stay.
I enjoyed my stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
8.0Breakfast was excellent - smashed avocado with poached egg and smoked bacon. Room was large and comfortable and fairly cool despite the heatwave.
− Service for dinner was a bit slow, but the staff were working really hard on a busy weekend.
Dissapointing stay! Could have been so much better!!
4.0Full of character! Very nice food, excellent breakfast and lovely staff!!
− Our room was smaller than expected, and not as luxurious as indicated by the photos. The bathroom was scruffy and not the cleanest. The worst thing was the unbearable heat, we didn’t get a wink of sleep for two nights!! They supplied us with two broken Dyson’s one just fell apart, and the second simply didn’t expel any air what so ever, a complete waste of time. Any future guests, do your self a favour and don’t book room 5, you’ll regret it if you do!

9.0Excellent food. Good service. Great shower.
− It's an old building. Not possible to open windows for safety reasons. One small window was insufficient. The staff were very good and moved us to a cooler room.
Great stay for overnight wedding lovely breakfast
8.0Staff were lovely and rooms good size
