Perfect location for a Sicilian holiday
10.0La Petunia is a perfect strategic base for exploring the southern east corner of Sicily. It's about an hour and a half drive from Catania airport and within easy reach of artistic cities such as Modica, Ragusa and Siracusa. There are beautiful beaches nearby and one of the biggest advantages of the property is that the lovely Santa Maria del Focallo beach is just across the road! The town of Pozzallo is a ten-minute drive and you can find everything you need there including supermarkets, cash points, restaurants and a handy Chinese market which sells everything you need for the beach. There are several restaurants, bars etc within about 5 minutes drive. You do need a car to get round. The house is spacious and equipped with basic toiletries, cleaning products and cooking utensils. The house was very clean! There is a covered eating area and you can hear the sea while you are eating! The house is on the main road, so if you're a light sleeper you might need ear plugs but we weren't bothered by traffic. There's a handy outdoor shower for rinsing off sand when you get back from the beach. The house is completely private and you can leave your car safely right outside the house. Raffaella was really friendly and welcoming and very easy to comunicate with. We had a wonderful, relaxing holiday and would have no hesitation returning.

5.0It was fairly spacious. Just across the road to the sandy beach. It was a short drive to Pozzallo and there were some decent restaurants near by.
− During the day it was noisy being right by the SP67. It was not clear that payment in cash was required, which we didn't have so we had to drive to Pozzallo with the owner to get cash.There was a table and chairs outside at the front but the noisy traffic made it unpleasant to sit out and there was nowhere at the back to sit. It smelt a bit damp inside- needed airing. Rather expensive for what it was- we paid 1/2 the amount at our next stay for a lovely apartment near Noto.
