We had a lovely stay at Slieve Aughty Centre. Very unique setting, it actually made a short weekend away VERY relaxing. The staff were amazing and the food was awesome! Way better than a hotel in the city! We will definitely be booking with you again in future!

Nature, Tranquility and Peace

Our staycation was even better than we expected. We brought two children for a midweek break, and they absolutely loved every minute of it. We stayed in one of the self-catering cabins, which was so cosy and beautifully designed. I always love a good wood burning stove, and it made the cabin feel even more relaxing. There’s no TV, but honestly, we didn’t miss it. Instead, we spent our time exploring the forest walks, beautiful gardens and stables. We wandered deep into the forest where we came across stunning lakes, the kids even decided to walk in them! Enchanted forest CUTE ☺️ It was such a lovely way to disconnect and enjoy nature together. The café was absolutely adorable. Every detail of the décor had clearly been thought through, with beautiful rustic, cottage-M style vibes throughout. The coffee was amazing (although maybe don’t let the chef make it! 😂), and the brownie was hands down one of the nicest I’ve ever tasted & I am not a brownie fan (was so delish). One of the biggest positives for us was being able to bring our Golden Retriever, who was so well behaved during our stay. We also noticed a couple of resident cats wandering around, which added to the charm. Fire logs are provided too, making the evenings even cosier. One thing worth noting is that dogs aren’t permitted in the dormitory style accommodation above reception, which is why we stayed in one of the cabins instead. If you’re travelling with your dog, I’d definitely recommend booking a cabin.

− The children wanted to go horse riding the following day. Unfortunately, there was a mix-up and some miscommunication regarding the booking (we booked in advance) but I have to give a special mention to the new receptionist, Monica. She handled the situation with incredible patience, professionalism and kindness despite the confusion, and she really turned the experience around for us. The kids were delighted to go out in the end. Overall, we loved every minute of our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape surrounded by nature, with cosy accommodation, lovely walks and a beautiful atmosphere, I’d highly recommend it (flies come out after dark and they are nastily so watch out).

Absolutely perfect. We have loved every second of our weekend here. There has been so much for the kids to do, painting, horse riding, walking, playground, etc they have thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Everything is so beautiful, so much love has went into the place, it's truly magical. The staff are super friendly, and the food is gorgeous, and all organic too. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience, we've already booked to come back!

I loved the rural location. The chill vibe and the whole set up was great.

− The whole place was spotless so I have no complaints. My duvet was a little musty but I am a huge fusspot when it comes to smells so it could have just been my sensitivity to that. Over all spotless. There was no freezer only a fridge, I had brought some frozen fruit along so they thawed pretty quickly, all amenities were there. Staff were lovely and very helpful. It was the most relaxing breakaway I've had in a long time. I will definitely return.
