− We arrived at the guesthouse at about 5pm after a very long day of travelling on shocking roads. Monica eventually responded to our numerous calls and buzzing on the gate intercom. Surprise, surprise… She had double booked and there was no room for us?? She was not there, and after a look around the property I can say for sure there were no other guests. Her response to this was that they were all out. Nonsense!! She arranged for us to stay at another guesthouse, and promised that it was of the same standard and that it also included breakfast. Whilst it was comfortable, there was no breakfast. My payment to Pecan Guesthouse had already gone through, but Monica said the place we were going to stay at was the same price and that she would pay for our stay there. I’ve lost out as Pecan Guesthouse was definitely more expensive, and included breakfast. All I can say is I’ve never experienced anything like this before, and I use Booking.com quite frequently.
