Extra sausage, extra charges and extra bugs

On being greeted by the owner, I was told that I had to pay £12 for parking. I was told that I would be given an extra day for parking so therefore this would account for the £12. I was confused by this as I was only staying one night, but had to pay for an extra day's parking even though I wouldn't benefit from it. I was given my key and told were the room was. On coming back from the restaurant and cinema where I went that evening, I decided to get ready for bed. I was lying on the bed when i saw a small reddy brown insect crawling across the duvet. I quickly got out of bed and got toilet paper and I killed the bug. I looked on Google for this type of bug and was told it was a bed bug. I was also told where there was one, there would be others so I set about turning the mattress and the duvet upside down to see if there were any others. I found a smaller black crawly on the mattress, which again i killed. Fortunately I found no more bugs and went to sleep. In the morning, I went down for breakfast, and even though I had chosen a table, was told to move to a different one after giving the waitress my room number. I was told to help myself to cereal and juice and I was asked whether I wanted tea or coffee. After 5 minutes a basket was delivered with 4 triangle of white toast. I checked the menu and it said that there was a choice between white and wholemeal, a choice which was never spoken about. I then asked whether they have dairy free spread as there was only sachets of normal butter on the table. The waitress then brought out a 400g tub of sunflower spread. She apologised about the situation and having such a big tub on the table. I asked about the full English breakfast when offered it and enquired as to whether the hash browns had milk in them. The waitress again went into the kitchen and asked. She came back and said that they 'may contain milk.' I decided against them and the beans but said I would like everything else. The plate was brought and I was told that as I wasnt having the hash brown and beans, I had been given an extra sausage. Overall, I thought there were things that could have been done better and more attention paid to the little things that make a stay in a B&B like this, much more pleasurable!

Stayed here with 3 friends for Norther soul weekend for three nights Fri-Sun inclusive, welcoming staff, excellent breakfast. ensuite rooms, felt very comfortable on the whole. Within easy walking distance to the town

Property was excellent, friendly staff? Plenty of parking and even given extra time to park. Rooms nice and clean. Great value for money and even has its own bar! Great breakfast! Plenty of sitting area. Will definitely be back and recommend to friends and family. Thank you to all the staff. Loved it,

− When I booked this stay on booking.com breakfast was included like last year. Recieved an email from the hotel telling me that breakfast wasn't included if I booked it with a third party!! I book a hotel for our stay if they include breakfast - Going to have to book a different hotel next!

Location was perfect, breakfast was spot on and the staff was fantastic. Little games room with a dartboard was awesome as well as we was on a darts trip.

− Doors slamming. Should be a device on doors to prevent them slamming. No been able to get to sleep and being woken up by room doors crashing ain’t the greatest.
