Kalimera Beach Hotel is probably on the best stretch of beach in the Maya Beach area of Placencia. The small hotel is really relaxing and friendly and staff go out of their way to help. Breakfasts are amazing!

− We had a family room which is located nearer to the road and in the morning loud trucks and cars would often wake me up but as it's a tiny peninsula it's hard for anywhere to be located far from the road.

This is such a charming boutique hotel! It’s exceptionally clean, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. It truly felt like a home away from home. Another great perk was the complimentary breakfast. It was delicious, offered a great selection, and made our mornings so much easier, especially when traveling with kids. One of the highlights of our stay was the bartender. He was fantastic! We stayed for five days, and by the end it felt like we had made a new friend. We looked forward to seeing him every day. He even learned what our kids liked and always had their favorite things ready for them, which made our stay feel extra special and personal. We had a wonderful experience and would gladly stay here again. Highly recommend!

− Room for improvement: Upon arrival, there was no assistance offered with our luggage. While this may not be a standard service everywhere, it was something we had appreciated at other properties during our trip. We also noticed that fresh hand towels were not available when we arrived. It was a small detail, but one that would have made our arrival feel more welcoming. One thing that stood out to us throughout our travels in Belize was how warm, hospitable, and genuinely kind the people were. Because of that, we were a bit surprised that we didn’t experience the same level of friendliness from the kitchen staff. When we ordered lunch, we felt somewhat as though we were inconveniencing them, and while breakfast service was smoother, we often got the impression that our presence was a bother. It wasn’t a major issue, but it did feel a little unusual compared with the warmth and hospitality we encountered elsewhere during our trip. Overall, these are relatively minor points, but addressing them could make the guest experience even better.

Our stay at Kalimera Beach Hotel was truly unforgettable and not just because of how beautiful it is. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how clean, stylish, and well-appointed the hotel is. The location is ideal, the beach is gorgeous, and the breakfast and lunch were honestly some of the best meals we had during our entire trip to Belize. What really set Kalimera apart was the exceptional care shown by the staff and Owner. On our final day, after checking out and driving nearly an hour toward the airport, we realized we had left our passports in our room. To make matters worse, we were involved in a car accident while turning back to the hotel, leaving us stranded at a police station with no realistic way to retrieve our passports and still make our flight. We called the hotel, not knowing what to expect but without hesitation, the Owner personally drove an hour to bring our passports directly to us at the police station. Because of that extraordinary act of kindness, we made our flight home. That level of genuine care goes so far beyond what any hotel is expected to do. Kalimera Beach Hotel has earned our highest recommendation and our loyalty for any future trip to Belize.
