La Pergola sits within a private, gated property with multiple apartments occupied by owners. There is a shared outdoor space, but also a (mostly) private terrace right outside the front door. The view is spectacular, looking down over Bellano and out over Lake Como. At night, the lights of Menaggio twinkle from across the lake. The apartment was well appointed for longer stays (kitchen equipped with standard cookware and utensils) and the hosts provided coffee pods and cold water in the fridge upon arrival. The shower pressure was wonderful and ran hot or cold - whichever you prefer. The walk down into town is fairly straightforward, but the uphill return was much less attractive. The free weekend shuttle bus provided by the town is a saving grace, leaving only a 2 minute walk from the dropoff point at the Ombriaco hairpin turn. The host is so helpful and accommodating, providing step-by-step directions (with photos) to get there.

− The lack of air conditioning was a concern in the 90F July heat, but the sun shade on the terrace kept the temperature inside manageable. The evening breeze helped cool the apartment for a comfortable sleep.

Krásný výhled, milí lidé, čisto, útulno. Protože chceme vždy byt s výhledem, počítáme s tím , že bude chůze do kopce, tady to byla denní rozcvička, proto to není pro pohybově handicapované. V městě Bellano je nádherný park s vodopády, blízko je jezero Como, výlety lodí, kavárničky. Prostě nádhera.

Exceptional stay! If you want to escape the chaos of Lake Como tourism, this place is the perfect getaway. It’s nicely tucked away in Ombriaco, about a kilometer uphill from Bellano. During the summer months (June to August) there’s a very helpful free shuttle bus that transports passengers between Bellano Train Station and Ombriaco and the place is just a 2 minute walk away from the Ombriaco bus stop. The place is neat, well-decorated, clean, and spacious. The view on the patio is the absolute best part of this place and worth staying away from the Bellano city center for sure. Saw an incredible sunset over the mountain in a calm, peaceful way without any other tourists. The staff was very organized, and communicated very well, often responding within minutes to any questions or concerns. Highly recommend this place!

La signora è stata gentilissima, non avevamo voglia di scendere a Bellano ( 10 minuti a piedi ma eravamo distrutti) e ci ha regalato la pasta e la salsa al pomodoro e quindi siamo rimasti a casa .
