Dirty and dangerous.
4.0The location was great. The building is beautiful and cosy. The bed was comfortable, although small. The rooms were a great size.
− Well, let's just say the place is dangerous. In the living room, there are telegraph poles holding up wooden beams. The day after we arrived I could smell something like fumes but my husband couldn't smell it, he doesn't have a good sense of smell. We were in and out of the property as we had come back from Spain for a funeral and a wedding so we were extremely busy. After 3 days my husband realised that it was the telegraph poles that smelt, as he could actually smell it now. He was also getting sore eyes but didn't realise why. It turns out that used telegraph poles are grade 4 hazardous waste due to the strong chemicals they are treated with and should never be used indoors. Although they were painted it does not lessen the danger. They can cause burns and eye and throat irritations. The smoke alarm was not on the ceiling where it should be, it was wedged in a wooden beam. The fire extinguishers had not been serviced for 4 years or more. The property was also extremely dirty. There was bird poo on the kitchen wall and in the bathroom, also bird feathers in the kitchen. The pictures will show you. I didn't take pictures of everything as I cleaned bits when I got there. It is really sad to have to write this as the building is beautiful but it is unsafe and needs to be addressed urgently. If we could have found somewhere else we would have moved on day 3 but we had our dog with us which made it awkward. There were other issues like no plug near a mirror to do your hair but this seems minor now compared to the seriousness of the above issues. There was also no iron or ironing board even though it stated on the booking that there would be.
Beautiful holiday let
10.0Booked last minute due to family emergency. Owner accomodating and reponsive
− Everything fine. Maybe a dressing mirror in bedroom and the place is perfect!
Disappointing!!
5.0Breakfast was excellent (cooked it myself) Location was good for what we wanted.
− The kitchen could have been better equipped for what we paid. Walls were thin, kept awake till early hours with noise from adjacent property. Woken at 5.30am with noise and reverse beepers from adjacent farm. Property freezing cold when we arrived. For £351 for two nights not good value for money
