Nice villa with shortcomings

The villa is spacious, has a nice garden and nice terraces around the house. It is located in a scenic area very close to the historic village of Carassai. The bathroom on the ground floor is large, the kitchen is well equipped. The views from the terrace on the 1st floor are amazing, on one side beautifull sunsets, on the other side the historical village on top of the hill. The representative of the owners who met us upon arrival was a nice and friendly person who showed us around the villa and garden. We loved Artu the cat and Ernesto the donkey, but it seems to us the donkey needs more space and company, we got the impression he was quite lonely.

− There is only 1 airco unit in the villa, in the living room on the 1st floor (with sofa couch). There is no airco in the bedrooms. The windows do not have mosquito screens, so it is hardly possible to open them for fresh air, as there are a lot of insects around the house. We were only 2 persons, so we used the living room and adjoining bed room on the 1st floor, but we find it hard to imagine how to live downstairs with high summer temperatures and not being able to open the windows. The interior of the villa is slightly outdated, the cleaning was rather superficial. If you charge € 300 cleaning costs you better make sure the villa is superclean. The invasion of centipedes and the sewer smell after the rain was also not very nice. The rental office was not easy to contact, they never answered the phone, did not react to messages through Booking.com and sporadicly answered our e-mails. In the end we got a small discount, but in our opinion we did not get value for money.
