− Location is a bit hard to get to. Pre book taxis if coming into the area by train .
Great place to stay. I would recommend Compton House and its location
10.0Compton House is a lovely listed building with large rooms. Our room overlooked the beautiful garden, the bed was very comfortable and was made up each day by the host. A lot of history is in the house but no ghosts. The dining/ breakfast room had open fires and very ornate. Our Host put out a lovely breakfast spread as well as cooking a breakfast for us. There is parking at the house and locally cafes and traditional pubs are in the historic village of Axbridge just 4 minutes walk. Beautiful listed properties in the village, each having a blue plaque with historical information. Only 15 minutes drive takes you to Cheddar, Wells, Glastonbury and its Tor and Streets Clarks Village. A little further takes you into Bath or Bristol. I would recommend Compton House and our host was very helpful.
