A gorgeous week in Peratallada

We absolutely loved our stay in Peratallada! Waking up to views of the castle was wonderful. The house is so beautiful and perfectly located in the centre of a gorgeous historic village with great restaurants, bars and ice cream shops. It's a brilliant base from which to do day trips to the beach as there are so many beautiful coves nearby too. The house is beautifully decorated, with a lovely terrace at the top of the house which we loved. It is set over 3 floors so we definitely got our steps in! It has air con in all of the bedrooms (as well as the top living room with the sofa bed in it) which we were very grateful for during some of the hottest days. The pool was also a god send in the heat and was the perfect size for us and our young child, we spent many days playing and lounging around it. All in all, we loved it.

− A few more home comforts like hand wash and bin liners/recycling bags would have been useful as we didn't have a chance to do a shop before arriving and there isn't a shop in the village

Not bad, pretty, and just needs a bit of prep

It is nicely decorated, great pool in the back. Good setup despite being four floors. You just get used to climbing stairs.

− A lot of flies and nothing to stop them. One of the rooms doesn’t have a curtain since it’s connected to a vaulted ceiling so sunlight comes in and you’ll wake up early if you’re light sensitive. Dishwasher had dirty utensils already in it, and they had only given us one dishwasher pod so we had to wait to use up a lot of dishes to finally use the dishwasher, and then it turned out the dishwasher was broken. The management came to fix it and determined the dishwasher couldn’t be fixed but replaced. There was a smell coming from the downstairs bathroom, and the management came a separate time to clean it. But then concluded the pipes just had a smell. It’s an Airbnb in a “remote” place, and they had barely enough toilet paper. No paper towels, no paper napkins. Most important, no coffee pods. These things are very inexpensive but really add up to make the trip to the market very annoying. And we had to spend time going to the market and shopping when we could be at the beach. We had four people, and they first only gave us one bath towel and one hand towel each. They denied our first request for more towels and then finally gave us more. Note there are no bath mats and floors are slippery. They don’t provide towels even though there’s a swimming pool. Also the towels they do have are 100% polyester so they don’t even dry. It’s more like a loofah moving water around your body. Other than that, easy to navigate, easy to find parking and walk into the town. Hope the owner just finds another management company, or the management company decides to do more than the bare minimum.

− Falta funcionamiento electrodomésticos no nos funcionaba lavaplatos , insecticida para hormigas y elementos básicos de cocina aceite sal y azúcar

Casa singular en Peratallada magníficamente situada y con un encanto especial

La ubicación de la casa en Peratallada no puede ser más óptima, está central pero al mismo tiempo en una calle muy tranquila del pueblo. Se ve el castillo desde las habitaciones que es precioso y pequeño mientras que por el otro lado uno tiene una visión de los campos preciosa. La casa en sí se divide en "4 niveles" como ya habíamos visto en las fotos que dan una idea bastante precisa del alojamiento. En la planta baja justo al entrar está al baño más grande de la casa (vuelvo a este punto al final), la cocina, el comedor y el pequeños patio trasero con la piscina. En el segundo nivel está la zona donde hay la primera habitación que se llega a través de las escaleras (así que para ir al baño hay que bajar, esto ya se veía en las fotos y para nosotros no ha sido un problema) mientras que hay en el otro lado una zona con dos sofás al lado de una ventana con plantas muy bonita. Subiendo un piso más hay la segunda habitación, medio piso subiendo más una zona para ver la TV (inmesa), lástima que el sofá sea duro como una piedra, y un segundo baño muy pequeño pero equipado con ducha. A este nivel máximo hay una pequeña terracita donde se aprecian más los campos traseros colindantes. La casa en general está decorada con gusto, sin estridencias, y muy acorde con su entorno medieval y con clase del pueblo, todo muy cuidado. A la casa le hubiésemos dado la máxima puntuación si los colchones y almohadas hubiesen sido confortables (todo excesivamente duro, va a gustos cierto) pero lo que ha bajado la puntuación es el olor de humedad que proviene de las tuberías y cada orificio del baño que está en la planta baja, esto sube por desgracia hacia toda la casa, no importa que uno cierre los tapones de la bañera, de los dos lavamanos, bajando la tapa del WC. Es una olor que ni teniendo las ventanas abiertas de toda la casa y cerrando a la noche porque ya empieza a hacer frío en el Ampurdà. Hay el Restaurante L´Eixida a 1 min a pie, es una delicia.

− A la casa le hubiésemos dado la máxima puntuación si los colchones y almohadas hubiesen sido confortables (todo excesivamente duro, va a gustos cierto) pero lo que ha bajado la puntuación es el olor de humedad que proviene de las tuberías y cada orificio del baño que está en la planta baja, esto sube por desgracia hacia toda la casa, no importa que uno cierre los tapones de la bañera, de los dos lavamanos, bajando la tapa del WC. Es una olor que ni teniendo las ventanas abiertas de toda la casa y cerrando a la noche porque ya empieza a hacer frío en el Ampurdà, se va, y esto hace que una visita que podría haber sido perfecta queda un poco mermado su nivel de calidad.
