Property in need of a deep clean and tidy

The location.

− The property was not clean. I cleaned it on arrival to make our stay more comfortable. I have never done this before for rental holiday accommodation. Tiles were sticky in kitchen, food crumbs under dining room table, food on carpet in bedroom, food scraps around bin in kitchen, used bath towels in bedroom wardrobe, shower sandy and mouldy. The gardens were untidy, and overgrown. There was broken furniture inside with the lounge being propped up by a piece of wood, towel rail in bathroom broken, the outside table was in bad condition. Bunk beds were too high for the ceiling height and unstable. Fans could not be used in that room safely. Vacuum was full and broken. No BBQ tools. No spare tea towels in kitchen.

It was perfect for what we needed.

It was clean, fit all of us fine and comfortable.

− The fans in the bedrooms weren’t great, the one in the bunkbed bedroom was stuck on as there was no dial on the wall to turn it off. There was a bit of a sewage smell outside.

A great stay, good location and lovely hosts ! Thankyou for having us.

The home was conveniently located to the areas of Newcastle that we visited. Large home with comfortable beds.

− Locked box code on check in information was incorrect. Therefore, I needed to phone the owner to obtain the correct code to be able to access keys. When we tried to unlock the front door, the key snapped off in the lock. We then had to call the owner to notify of this and wait for another set of keys to arrive. Thankfully my husband was able to retrieve the broken off key from the lock and use the lock with the new keys to get into the premises. The owner then later asked where the second set of keys were, which we gave to her friend who bought us a second set of keys when the original key broke. Cockroaches. I was utterly disgusted to find cockroaches in the cutlery drawer, kitchen, loungeroom and bedrooms. I bought this to the owners attention during our stay and was very disappointed in the response "thanks for letting me know we will get it sprayed asap" I would have expected some kind of discount/refund of some sort for this occurring. We paid $530/night to stay on this home. Not small change!

Clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped.

− 6 seater dining table isn't big enough for a house that sleeps 9 people. It also would have been helpful to know in the description that the BBQ was only a baby weber, when planning to cater for 9 people.
