Beautiful 5 star hotel with great staff and high quality food, the rooms are extra spacious, actually the whole resort feels so spacious. We had a private meat bbq for my birthday and the chef made sure there was more than enough meat. We also did a nice sunset bicycle ride through the village which was really nice.

− The resort is a bit isolated.

Staff really try hard to look after you. Customer service is excellent. No complaints on service and staff , top notch

− Property looks tired in places for a relatively new resort opened in 2016, could really do with a overhaul. Not in the premium end resorts from my experience. Buffet could be more varied. At the lower end of the shangri la group in terms of quality

Not 5 star experience was expecting comparing to other hotels in Sri Lanka. Doesn’t live upto the brand name in this loc

Facilities, seeing the monkeys in the trees. Lovely pool area. Nice size room, mainly clean.

− Issues with communications, kids gaming area not being supervised when told it was.. Same menu but food is different every-time you order. Loud music not good if you want early night

Didn’t live up to expectations

Good location, on the beach and near the lake. Adult pool was great. Friendly staff. Golf course was good. Though the check in was late we got an extended check out (not related to the delay).

− We got there around 2:30, half an hour after check-in time, but even after waiting ten minutes only one room was ready. We were tired after our long drive and were looking forward to refreshing a bit before lunch but couldn’t do this due to lack of rooms. Only two restaurants were open. We tried the Bojunhala buffet (Rs 8k ++ pp), there weren’t many guests and even though about an hour was available for lunch service to close, there were many empty food pans. For the price paid, the options were limited. Plus around 3:15 a staff member came to our table and said that the buffet is closing in ten and to get the food we want. Ordered room service at night and the club sandwiches were too salty and dry. Next day breakfast buffet was average but at least it had some options and lots of Sri Lankan food. In general the food was not great for a five star hotel. Rooms were average. We had lake view rooms. We were told that the ocean views were $45 extra. When checked we found that only a strip of ocean was visible so we chose to stay with our original rooms. Only plastic water bottles were available. Very limited amenities compared to other five stars that we’ve stayed in. There were a lot of renovations going on our floor.
