The Marina experience♡

I phoned the property to let them know my imminent arrival and the owner told me that it was no longer available. He blamed booking.com for this problem. I am unable to say what happened that caused him to withdraw but I would be wary of listing this property again.

− Their last minute cancellation of my booking.

− Shower wasn’t working. Was only told about this when we arrived and that public marina facilities would have to be used. Bed linen wasn’t laundered and there were pubic hairs and stains on one bed.

The central location

− No parking. Host had told me to park at the Raddison, but that was €7 a day, with zero spaces available. The shower not working, and having to use the marina shower, which was cold and dirty. The boat was shabby and in need of a deep clean. Too expensive for what it was. Noisy at night, teenagers shouting under the bridge, 10 feet from the boat. No lighting in the lounge area.

A great novelty for a weekend stay with minimal expectations.

Location is great for wander around the town & enjoyed the novelty of staying on a boat. Pasta, spices, cereal and coffee were provided which was a nice touch. Clean and comfortable.

− No shower on boat (broken) and showers at Marina are out of order indefinitely. Not a major issue for 2 nights but unexpected. Only working lights were in kitchen. Had to pay extra when arrived for electricity. It wasn’t expensive but unexpected. A frying pan would have been welcome.

Great fun right on the water in the centre of town just brilliant

It was a great alternative stay better than a hotel we lived it.

− The shower wasn’t working which we didn’t realise until the booking was confirmed. But the marina had great shower/toilet facilities which our host told us about.

Great for a short break with a unique setting
