Un séjour très agréable dans la belle ville de Pyrgos.

L’établissement est très agréable avec un lit très confortable pour dormir. L’accueil a été très chaleureux avec des conseils pour notre séjour et des horaires d’entrée arrangeantes. L’appartement est bien placé dans une ville dynamique et à la fois plus tranquille que les grosses villes de l’île. Nous avons passé un séjour magnifique et en bonus la vue depuis le toit est imprenable avec une vue splendide sur le coucher de soleil tous les soirs.

− La cuisine mériterait quelques petits équipements en plus notamment un four/micro-ondes et une ou deux poêles. Mis à part ça je n’ai rien à redire sur le reste.

La situació, les vistes, la decoració i el poble eren perfectes. Un poble no tan massificat com els llocs típics de Santorini, però amb aparcament i carreteres clares per arribar. L'estança presciosa i l'amfitriona molt disposada a ajudar.

− La cuina no està molt equipada. Si planejes cuinar plats elaborats, et faltaran utensilis. Per nosaltres, n'hem tingut suficient amb les olles que teniem a disposició, però no hi havia fregalls ni paelles, per exemple. Tampoc hi ha aire acondicionat, però si un bon ventilador i un deshumificador.

The cave house is in a wonderful location almost at the very top of the old town of Pyrgos. I would recommend Pyrgos to anyone who wants to see more of Santorini than just Instagram selfies. It is quiet in the evenings and even during the day you will only meet a fraction of the number of people in Fira or Oia. However, be aware that access is only possible via stairs (and there are quite a few of them) and narrow alleys without any transport. And that it is a cave house, a very old vaulted room on one side at ground level and on the other almost two floors below ground level. The facility has a roof with a stunning view of the countryside, but you have to climb it from outside. The owners have done a lot of good work to turn a cellar that is several hundred years old into a place for a romantic stay. And when the ground shakes or a strong wind blows, you can experience the atmosphere of a haunted house.

− The equipment could use some better maintenance and additions - the most we missed was a table on the roof and certainly a table and chairs in the main room so we could have breakfast inside when the weather is not good. We also missed some small things in the kitchen (a frying pan, a dish towel and sponge, a basket for carrying things to the roof). And there is no drying rack.

Beautiful place and amazing location. The roof terrace, although separate to the property, was such a treat with great views. The house was immaculate and comfortable. Pyrgros was picturesque and a great base to explore Santorini.

− Finding the house late at night was difficult. We had the location on Google maps but my phone kept losing connection. Luckily we had a photo of the house and this helped us to find it. Don’t bring heavy luggage as it is a steep walk along windy cobbled lanes with many steps. Getting onto the roof terrace is a bit tedious and not easy to negotiate with food and drink. You have to leave the house at the back, go up steep steps, out of the gate and then find and unlock another gate and go up more steps, but it was totally worth the effort.
