Dirty place to stay in
1.0The location was perfect as not far from Durham.
− The place has not been cleaned properly. One of the bed sheets in the bedroom was dirty and I had to ask for a replacement. Sofas in the main room had rubbish underneath the cushions. Oven trays had leftover food from previous occupants. The caravan is supposed to cater for 4 people and only had three knives and forks, including dinner plates. This place needs a proper clean before being rented out. It's disgraceful really.

Unprofessional experience - felt like we were trespassing

− The entire experience was uncomfortable and unprofessional. After a 6-hour drive, I had to chase the host just to get check-in details. The instructions we received were incredibly off-putting; the host explicitly told us not to talk to park management or anyone on-site because "they do not like contact from any guest." Most shockingly, we were told that if the gate was closed, we should wait aside and "take a chance" to sneak in behind other cars. Expecting paying guests to behave furtively and sneak onto a property is unacceptable and suggests the host is renting the unit against park rules. The interior quality was also very poor. The bedding was old and bobbled, the microwave was filthy, and there were leftover products in the bathroom. While we were told not to wear shoes inside, the floors were so disgusting that our socks ended up cleaning the dirt off the floor. We booked for 3 nights but felt so uneasy and let down by the lack of cleanliness that we left after only 2.

− Security gates was told after I booked to sit and wait outside untill someone went out or in and sneak through the gate whilst it was open After booking was told not to speak to anyone on site or ask anyone on site any questions
