Great house in rural Wexford.

9.0

Quiet rural location between Wexford and Waterford. Well equipped spacious house. Very helpful, welcoming host.

TV in one of the lounge rooms was not connected to an aerial or the internet, so we didn’t really use that room, which was a shame, as it was a very nice room.

Disappointing

4.0

The location was fine, a bit remote, but we like it quiet. There was enough towels, toiletpaper, soap, etc.

The last messages I sent the host to inform her about our arrival weren't replied to. When we entered everything seemed fine. But one room was filled with flies (about 25 of them, and dead ones on the floor as well. The place didn't seem to be cleaned recently. There were no instructions on how to operate the Wifi, heater (and hot water) or how garbage collection works in Ireland. In the middle of our week, we found out that the main bathroom leaked, the water dripped out a spotlight downstairs. When a heavy rainstorm passed by there was another leak. When we spoke to the owner they were aware of both problems, but they hadn't fixed it and didn't inform us beforehand. The gas boiler ran out of fuel and was only refilled 24 hours later, they brought us 2 electric heaters to compensate. All the appliances and cooking utensils were....mediocre at best. Matrasses were terrible. Outside was a mess, now it's autumn in Ireland so you can expect some leaves and muck etc. The photos looked so good, but in practice, the place needs a lot of maintenance. One double bed was so small and hard that it was practically unusable. Bedrooms and beds were small, except a from a few hooks in the main room under the stairs, there's no hooks to hang clothes, coats or towels on. We payed good money for this place, but it left a feeling of disappointment in general.
