Great location, dog friendly, welcoming host. Nearby you have a great beach, lovely forest walks, one with a Waterfall

− Facilities are OK, but need finishing off. Examples are some screws sticking out from kitchen cabinets. Also the map location is incorrect, meaning it's tricky to find. A little effort will help to elevate this venue.

It was very close to Curracloe beach and Wexford town and the host was happy for us to arrive an hour early and let us know there was no rush to check out the following day. The host also met us at the property and was very friendly.

− Let me preface this by saying I did not expect perfection but between the reviews and the score, things didn’t align and I would’ve liked to have known this before booking. On the smaller side there was aesthetic issues such as the grass hadn’t been cut for a while, there was significant cob webs in the windows inside, between furniture and above the beds. There was also coffee stains outside of some of the cups. The floor was also very dirty and those of us that hadn’t brought slippers, had to throw out our socks. For full disclosure, I’m aware this is a dog friendly property but we did not bring a dog and there was a significant amount of dust, dirt and dog hair on our socks. I own a dog and understand how dog hair gets everywhere so when I’m telling you it was an issue, I’m speaking from experience. There was also a bug in our bed, which can happen, the house is in a countryside location but when you tie in the rest of the cleanliness issues, it gave concern. I had checked with the host during the week about arriving an hour early and was assured it was not an issue but she reported that she was rushing cleaning it when we arrived. The host had told us that she was trying to put money back into the property but there was serious concerns (and some smaller ones that could have be fixed cheaper) and there was no evidence of recent attempts to fix issues. There were gaps between many electrical plugs and sockets and the walls (pretty hefty safety concern), and there had clearly been a job done to make a bathroom but the result was a small bathroom that smelled of mould and a gap between that wall and the ceiling into the small bedroom. There was significant holes in the ceiling that had been covered a while ago with either masking tape that was peeling off and one cover attempt was done with a piece of fake ivy.

− Would've liked to know that there was dogs on site, maybe a closed off area for dogs

We needed to break up a long journey and this was an excellent place to relax with the dogs.
