Nice location. The beach really is walking distance but the way back is a steep uphill.

− Poor host attitude. Bathrooms were dirty and amenities were the cheapest available or non existent (single ply toilet paper, no toilet paper holder, no shampoo, toilet paper basket hand operated and small). Mosquito nets have big gaps or fall apart with every use leading to a house full of mosquitoes (had to kill literally tens of mosquitoes every night before bed). Host asked me to use my finger to fix the nets after every use or let the owner come by to show us how to do it. Lower floor where the bedrooms are is semi basement. Only the bedrooms have air conditioning which means that the upper floor is simply unusable during the day due to the heat. The (lovely guy to be honest, but still) owner lives in the semi detached house next door and you will see him often through the day. His dog is at times free to roam the property and show up at your door or wait for you at night when you park your car. Sunday morning there were gardeners outside our bedroom planting new pants in the garden. Upon arrival the bathroom was obviously not cleaned properly (the host told that the sand in the bathroom sink maybe got in through the windows...) and remained so even after supposedly the cleaning staff cleaned it again while we were away. Upon arrival host asked us to change our schedule to accommodate hers for the checkin since as she said "she has others to tend to not only us". With every problem communicated to the host I just got an excuse as a reply and never a solution. Host asked us to turn off the air conditioning that we left running since we had to keep the windows closed due to the mosquitoes throughout the day. Also a dish washer was advertised but not present. For a family of 5 with 3 small children the dish washer is a must. Your "private" terrace features a balcony door to the owner's house that even though he does not use it, he keeps half open (in recline) so no privacy there either.

The location of this property was exceptional, the view was magic. The house is a short walk to the quite secluded beach and clear water, easy drive to all sight seeing locations and the port with shops and restaurants. Everything was clean and in good working order as well as tastefully decorated and finished. the outdoor seating area is fantastic for lounging, eating and enjoying the view. The owner Antonis was charming and very attentive and caring looking after all our needs and providing us with great recommendations and history about the island and culture. i could not ask for a better holiday and will recommend this to family and friends - i will be back.
