9.0The location, on the Main Street of Dunfermline, was just perfect. The Abbey and the beautiful Carnegie gardens were just a few minutes walk away. There were many nearby restaurants and shops. The building is a lovely old one. The apartment was really spacious and super clean. The facilities were very good, with a fully equipped kitchen which was a pleasure to cook in. The bright bathroom was modern with a good shower and hot water. I did have a problem with getting the water wall heaters going. There is a control unit near the front door which must be activated. Unfortunately there was no information provided in the apartment about that, and the office contact is only available during office hours. The following day they made contact and were helpful with sorting out the problem. There was public car parking just 5 minutes away. I was sent very detailed information on that before my arrival. It only cost 3.5 pounds per day.
− Just a warning that there is no lift in this building. The ‘deluxe 1 bedroom apartment’ that I had was on the 3rd floor and required climbing 66 stairs. This was not a problem for me, but could be for others.
