Excellent location for visiting the Crater
10.0Lovely gardens and helpful staff. Spacious bungalow with separate seating area

Only 20 minutes from the crater. Perfect lodging in Karatu.
10.0Staff were very helpful sorting out a tour. Welcome drink on arrival. Beautiful grounds, self contained cabin with bath and shower and a separate seating area. Mosquito nets. Great chef with buffet supper twice and personal order the first day. Recommended.

Ngorongoro conservation 5 star accomodation.
10.0The staff were amazing. They attempted to take care of everything, every little thing they were willing to help with, and always with a smile. We arrived after the kitchen was closed, but tgey opened it back up just for us. The food was scrumptious. The room exceeded expectations, especially after I requested a room closer to the parking lot due to my husband's health. The location was so close to the Ngorongoro conservation area. This to me makes it a 5 star property.
− Nothing.
Tanzania travel is a big scam altogether
7.0It is close to Ngorongoro gate
− Traveling in Tanzania can feel like a disappointing experience for some visitors. It is significantly more expensive compared to destinations like South Africa or Uganda. National parks tend to be overcrowded, with long lines of vehicles at every wildlife sighting—especially lions. Entry gates are particularly chaotic: people often skip queues, squeezing in wherever they can. Overall, the experience can feel disorganized. Taxes and fees are another source of frustration. Charges are often unclear—tourists may end up paying daily taxes per person and per vehicle just for staying at a hotel inside a national park. These fees are in addition to already high accommodation prices, which often don’t have pricing transparently displayed. For those self-driving, be aware of strict and sometimes unusual traffic enforcement. Hidden speed checks are common—officers may use unmarked observers with phones to report infractions to police stationed further down the road. This can result in steep fines. Some travelers report that officers may accept bribes at a fraction of the official penalty. It’s strongly advised not to show how much cash you're carrying. In summary, if you're looking for a more affordable and better-organized safari experience, you might want to consider alternatives like South Africa, Uganda, or Kenya.
