Felt like a home in paradise

We had an absolutely wonderful stay here! Even though we were only there for two nights, the super welcoming family made us feel completely at home from the moment we arrived. Communication went incredibly well, and they kindly arranged everything for us while sharing excellent local tips. The property itself has a very nice design, comfortable beds, and a perfect location. To top it all off, we looked forward to the delicious breakfast served fresh every single morning. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend it!

We were lucky to book this excellent homestay for our time in Toraja. The house is beautifully built and the bed was comfortable. Like in other homestays we booked it was the hosts who made it special. James and Rian managed to find a way of living a modern life without loosing their traditions. They a both great to talk to and although we stayed rather shortly and in a very busy time for them they still found time for some really nice conversations. We really appreciated everything they did for us including very good breakfast, organising a guide for tours and recommending bus/ scooter rental and restaurants. They even let us check in really early after coming to Toraja by night bus.

− If you are a light sleeper I advise to bring Ohropax- the neighbours have roosters and you can hear them (I'm not really sure if there is a silent place in Toraja though - roosters are everywhere) For us there was nothing to complain about, we would book again anytime!

An absolutely lovely homestay with a beautiful family. They looked after us perfectly and provided us with excellent guidance (and an excellent guide). Could not ask for a better stay.

− I'm getting on in years a bit, and a little brighter light in many accommodations would be appreciated.

Ruime smaakvolle loft met achtergrondgeluid

Er is veel vloeroppervlak beschikbaar. De ruimtelijkheid van de bouw als loft, al was het minder verfijnd afgewerkt. Er wordt snel gereageerd op vragen via de app. Was erg behulpzaam met uitzoeken kerktijden en wegbrengen naar beschikbare medische post. De plek staat niet afgezonderd, maar maakt deel uit van een stukje buurt. Maakt het levendiger plek (heeft wel een keerzijde).

− Het concept van Homestay kwam minder goed uit de verf door afwezigheid van eigenaren. Het was Kerst. Begrijpelijk, maar jammer, het maakt het verblijf minder gezellig, er was geen gelegenheid voor levendige gesprekken. De plek ligt dichtbij de weg en is omringd door agrarisch functioneren. Garantie voor veel geluid van de weg, kippen en varkens; sfeervol of overlast. Er waren veel mieren. De douche laat te wensen. Een lekker ontbijt hebben we moeten missen. Vanuit de hosts werd niet geïnformeerd hoe we het hadden, vonden en of we nog iets nodig hadden. Vinden we een omissie als goed inlevende gastheer.
