Granny cottage with no sea view

The unit is neat and clean. The closeness to bondi beach was nice. The fans kept the unit cool at all times.

− I was very surprised to discover that this unit was in fact an "out building" of some sort where the owners live on the property and block the full view of the beach. There is no way to see the beach from the unit and it felt like I was living in somebodies yard (which I was). Truly disappointing to have discovered that on arrival. The unit is decorated tastefully and is clean and therefore if you are willing to stay in a granny cottage then I would say consider this. There were so many other options in Shelly Beach that offered uninterrupted view of the beach and were closer and ALOT more private. Whilst the garden was big, it felt like the garden belongs to the owners and you feel very uncomfortable going out and relaxing. You would either be met with the housekeeping staff outside or gardeners cleaning the garden right next to windows whilst you are on holiday expecting some level of privacy, or 2 little dogs constantly getting excited and running to you (cute dogs nonetheless) whilst you rested, and seeing laundry being put on the line near the unit was the cherry on top. You never feel alone or have privacy and that was a complete NO for me. The beds are extremely uncomfortable. The base in the main bed is held on 2 bricks making the bed very difficult to lay on. Having chronic back ache made it a whole lot more unpleasant. Access to the beach is direct from the property however disclaimer the wooden pole steps are extremely steep (almost verticle) and makes it very difficult to go down if you have younger kids. I think if the description of this property was true to its nature and if I booked it I would have been somewhat satisfied however, I felt deceived on arrival. Additionally, paying an excessive amount for cleaning (which is way above standard- for my trip it was R800) to only be told that no cleaning will be offered during my stay was truly disappointing and frustrating.

Very comfortable and squeaky clean. Well kept. The staff were super friendly, pleasant and extremely helpful. It was an absolutely amazing holiday well spent! Highly recommend this place👍

It’s was very clean and felt safe

− Our stay was not pleasant at all. Upon arrival we rang the bell at the villa as it was communicated that we will meet someone there and no one opened for us so we had to drive to the initial agent offices where it’s initially stated we pick up the keys only to find out they don’t have the keys so only then the office called the caretaker lady and notified her we are around . During our stay we had to ask the helper a multiple times for hot water coz the geyser switches off. The villa said to provide the iron but they was no iron and negotiating with the helper to borrow us one was a sport. 👎🏾 Also they don’t clean or provide any more toilet paper for your entire stay.

We as a family had a wonderful stay.

Close and direct access to the beach. Quietness. Well looked after and clean unit with fans that actually cool the unit. Proper mattresses and enough utilities.

− The garage door needs to be fixed. A small backup system to keep the fridge and fans running during load shedding would be a great plus.
