Convenient stay in Uttarkashi
10.0Location of Hotel is less than 5minute walk from bus stop, in the main part of town. Kashi Vishwanath Temple is about 10minute walk. Double room is good in size but with a bit less extra space than usual hotel rooms and bathroom is compact. We did not mind at all as the hotel provided what we needed for our stay - a good place to rest. Staff was very helpful. The Manager, Swapnil, was very good in helping us out with our requests and was very responsive. Very grateful that they let us leave our big bags in between our stay as we visited another town.
− Breakfast was included in our stay but it seems that the kitchen/restaurant was not in action. We did not mind as there are other places we got good food.
If no other options, then decent for one night stay but not more than that and not for a family.
4.0not much. food was okay
− The rooms didn't look as good as they do in the pictures here, we got fooled by the photos and the reviews. The hotel has no parking at all you have to park outside somewhere, it is not on the main road, need to walk 50 metres or so in a dirty gully. At first they told us that there are no people available for luggage assistance also, only one person came for more than 10 suitcases but finally they sent more people. The toilets are so narrow and close to the wall. Our room had a separate bathroom and toilet however we were getting extremely hot boiling water in all pipes and even in the toilet hose. The staff told us there was some issue with plumbing work. Even the restaurant is not a proper restaurant, it looks like a shabby canteen with minimal sitting space but the food was okay. They have made sure to utilize each and every single square foot which makes the rooms looks weird. Our room was literally in a turning corner so it had just been fitted somehow to fill the space. Overall even dharamshalas might be better than this. Avoid if possible.
Cozy place with a nice host
8.0Swapnil is a very helpful host, and during the stay as well as after that, he assisted me on a couple of issues. Had booked a single room, however he had handed over the keys for a double without any special requests. The room and linen were neat, and didn't have any complaints with the bathroom.
− The only couple of issues I faced were first, with the room service where request for tea on arrival wasn't fulfilled for more than half an hour, and I had to go down to the reception to avail it. Second, the place is not easily accessible from the main road, and had to move my two wheeler on multiple occasions in the narrow ally to facilitate shops and some construction work going on which was quite inconvenient.
