Like a furnace in hot weather

The location is very central, easy to walk to everything. Apartment is big and spacious, and the kitchen is well equipped. Problems were resolved.

− This is an honest assessment, being constructive where possible. When we arrived the code to release the keys didn't work. Phoned the number and they gave us a new code, which also didn't work. Eventually a functioning code was available. However, two days later our keys were deactivated so we were locked outside. Eventually this too was resolved. But the biggest problem is the heat. Many past reviews have said that the apartment needs curtains in the living room. These are important for privacy but much more so to keep heat out. The windows are huge and face the sun most of the day. In the bedroom there are curtains but they are too small and thin to make a difference. So in hot weather the place is a furnace, it's impossible to sleep. We left so much more tired than when we arrived. You can leave the windows open but the road noise is very disturbing. Even though the apartment is on the fifth floor, street noise bounces off the buildings and if anything becomes louder on the way up. Buses pass late into the night and from early in the morning and they sound like tanks coming through. Or you can close the windows, have slightly less noise but even more heat. There are no good choices in this apartment which is not designed for, out adapted to, current conditions. There is no way I would ever stay here again unless these issues are resolved. I hope this feedback is taken on board or the apartment will be unrentable for much of the year.

Het terras was gigantisch: de twee buitenmuren waren volledig voorzien van een balkon. Dat maakte dat de hitte wat bestreden kon worden. Er was geen airco, maar er stonden wel twee ventilators klaar.

− Bij het binnenkomen vonden we een tweede sleutel. Dat was heel handig geweest, maar die sleutel bleek niet te werken. In de keuken was het minimaal servies/bestek voorzien, maar wij rekenenden ten onrechte ook op wat peper en zout (etc.).

Fantastic apartment in a great location

It was really spacious and had balconies on two sides which was fantastic in the hot weather we had.

− Nothing. The only issue was gaining entry: there are two branches in Aachen and we started at the wrong one and then when we found the correct building we couldn’t gain entry. Once I spoke to a staff member she was very helpful and organised a spare key.

Die Lage ist top, viel Platz hatten wir und es war alles sauber! Viele Küchenutensilien vorhanden und die Aussicht von der 5. Etage mit großem Balkon ist mega!

− Es gibt keine Klimaanlage und wir waren im 5. Stock, dadurch war es sehr warm. Es gab ein Glück einen Ventilator den wir genutzt haben, denn die Fenster konnte man nachts eigentlich nicht geöffnet lassen, da es wirklich sehr laut von der Straße her ist, bis in die frühen Morgenstunden. Zum Abdunkeln gibt es im Wohnzimmer leider keine Möglichkeit. Man soll den Abwasch machen, sonst werden extra Gebühren fällig, es gibt zwar auch einen Geschirrspüler aber keine Tabs, Spülmittel oder Geschirrtücher. Wir haben dann alles mit den Handtüchern abgetrocknet.

Great central location.

− The property hadn’t been cleaned when we arrived at 10pm at night after a long journey. No clean bed linen or towels. This was rectified the next day but was very upsetting as we had to sleep in a stripped bed with no clean linen. Although this was rectified the next day and was told this was not their usual standard, no compensation was offered and we had already paid the full cost!!! We paid full cost for a sub standard experience.

Great for self catering and in a convenient location. A modern not period building, like a serviced apartment.

Great location for tourist sights, rail and bus stations. Clean, very well equipped. Large apartment which you could live in as your home!

− Didn’t apply in April when we visited, but property is on a road with buses which fire engines and police cars also used. If we’d had to sleep with open windows it would have been noisy. Maybe there is air con - I didn’t notice.
