- nice and cozy apartment right in the historical center of Terezín.

− - the ceiling heating right above the bed was ripped out (see photo) and unplugged, so the bedroom was pretty cold at night - when we messaged the owner about missing toilet paper (which we found out late in the evening), she literally texted back "well, tough luck :D"...

Als wir vor dem Haus standen dachten wir an einen schlechten Scherz oder einen Irrtum. Wir waren uns anfangs nicht sicher ob in dem Haus überhaupt noch Menschen wohnen. Dies klärte sich aber nach Rückfrage mit dem Vermieter auf. Auch der Weg bis zur Wohnung war für uns etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig und wenig einladend. Die Wohnung selbst ist dann wie auf den Bildern, ähnliche Kontraste kannten wir so schon aus Georgien. Man kann dem Vermieter nicht absprechen das er sich hier sehr bemüht hat, auch wenn einige Dinge noch nicht ganz passen. Das nur zwei Betten statt drei Anmeldungen vorbereitet waren kann passieren, das es in der riesigen Küche nur einen einzigen Topf und eine Pfanne gab hat uns dann doch überrascht. Aber auch das haben wir gelöst. Sonntag früh um 8:00 Uhr werkelten dann die Handwerker wieder los. Uns störte das kaum da wir eine lange Radetappe auf dem Programm hatten und ebenfalls den Tag nutzen wollten. Fazit: Wohnung in Ordnung aber die unmittelbare Umgebung war jetzt nicht so unser Ding.

Apartament bardzo przytulny i komfortowy, od razu można poczuć się swobodnie, jak we własnym domu. Na miejscu dostępne są wszystkie niezbędne rzeczy. Dużą zaletą jest świetna lokalizacja – w pobliżu znajduje się wiele muzeów i atrakcji, do większości można dojść pieszo. Kontakt z właścicielem był bezproblemowy, a dostanie się do apartamentu odbyło się bardzo sprawnie. To doskonała baza wypadowa do zwiedzania miasta.

Most impressive place to stay when vititing Terazin/Theresienstadt

What an amazing location this is! In the heart of the getto, right next to the square with the beautifil church and the museum, you can walk to all landmarks. It it very special to stay in the middle of this historic location where so much hardship was suffered. Looking out the bedroom window you see a big building, on courtyard behind this building the historic football match between Jewish prisoners and the nazi’s was held: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZt92quVOsg. Every building in this area had a (awful) purpose during the war, you can find the map at the museum. The entry ticket is only 310 CZK and is valid for 3 days so you will have plenty of time to visit all venues. Terezin impressed us highly and gave us a much better understanding of what happened there during the war. Make sure you do stay a few days as it is really worth it. The apartment is hidden in an historic building. The owner put in a lot of effort to make this apartment ‘home away from home’. It is absolutely lovely. With a new bathroom and brand-new kitchen, you will have all modern comfort you need (oven, microwave etc.). The living room and bedroom are spacious and there is even a little office nook and there is wifi and is a big TV screen. The owner is very nice and his directions as to how to enter and leave the apartment are very clear. You can park your car in front of the door. The coffee corner sells great ice creams and good coffee. So if you want to visit Theresienstadt/Terezin this really is the place to be.

− This had nothing to do with the owner of the apartment. It is just some extra information. I did not know what to expect when we arrived in Terezin. The building looks run down but then I realized that we were actually in the middle of ‘the getto” and that all these buildings were built in the 1700’s and were used in 40-45 to lock up the Jewish population during the war it all sank in. All these buildings are monuments in original state, some renovated like this apartment but in ‘raw historical state’. It made our stay even more memorable and impressive.
