10.0Ascrib’s View is a gem. Strongly recommend to anyone visiting Skye. It’s nice to be away from the bustle of Portree, while still being close to many activities. We enjoyed hiking the Quirang and Fairy Pools, and had an amazing speed boat safari with Isle of Skye Seafari in Portree. The cottage is peaceful and clean, with modern fixtures, a full kitchen and incredible views. Billy and Helen were very easy to communicate with and were very responsive. They also squeezed us in for a booking at the restaurant at their hotel around the corner. It’s a great place to come back to at the end of the day, and a perfect base camp for exploring the island and relaxing.

10.0The hosts, Anne and Billy, messaged us beforehand with helpful recommendations on places to visit in Skye, which was much appreciated. The accommodation had everything we needed – it was clean, tidy, and very welcoming. The views from both the bedroom and living room windows were absolutely beautiful. Fairy Glen was just a few minutes’ drive away and definitely worth a visit. We stopped at the Co-op in Portree for some food, but found it quite expensive. Rankin’s, which was only a few minutes from where we were staying, is a better option in our opinion—I'd recommend shopping there instead. Just a heads-up: since the accommodation is out in the countryside, the lane leading up to it has quite a few potholes, so take care when driving.

10.0This location has a great view right outside. You are close to the great hikes, but not in the congested city of Portree.
