The house is beautifully situated with a stunning view. It’s in excellent condition and includes all essential amenities. Mara and Carlos are fantastic hosts.

I particularly liked that the host met us on arrival to show us the property and answer our questions. The gifts of biscuits, sweeties, oranges and Madeira wine were really lovely!

− The hill on which the house is located is very steep. This was fine for us but might be difficult for some people.

Wenn ich das Foto des Garden House in Funchal anschaue, bekomme ich richtig "Heimweh". Das Haus ist einfach perfekt, groß, sehr sauber, mit bequemen Betten, nett eingerichtet, mit allem Komfort (sogar 3 Badezimmern). Aber das Beste ist der unfassbare Blick auf das Meer, den Hafen und die Altstadt von Funchal aus dem Garten, mit einem Glas Rose in der Hand. Obwohl nicht ganz das Beste, das Beste sind die Vermieter, Mara und Carlos, die liebevoller und großzügiger nicht sein könnten. Ein wunderschöner Geschenkkorb wartete auf uns und sie waren immer erreichbar für Fragen oder Tipps. Die Lage ist erstklassig, fußläufig zum Botanischen Garten und zur Seilbahn auf den Monte, mit einer Top Bäckerei (Sesamo) und kleinen Supermärkten in der Nähe und in 5 Minuten ist man mit dem Auto in der Altstadt.

The house was lovely. Spacious and nicely furnished. It was equipped with everything we needed to make us feel at home. The location of Garden House in a quiet residential area with views over Funchal was ideal for us. I would recommend that anyone planning to stay there get a hire car from the airport for the duration of their stay. It makes day to day travel easy and allows you to explore the island, which I recommend. Parking isn't a problem on the road outside or on the driveway. Worthy of particular praise are the owners Mara & Carlos. From the time the booking was made to the time we returned home they were in contact with tips and advice. They met us after the house on our arrival and departure and kept in contact to make sure there were no problems.

− We had no complaints. It suited our requirements perfectly at that time of year. Things to bear in mind. There is no air conditioning (fans are provided) so could be hot at night during higher temperatures. Streets are steep and property is a distance from the centre of Funchal. If you don't want to hire a car, taxi's and buses are available but taxis are expensive.

This property is amazing! Real authentic house with amazing views and all the amenities that you need. However this is not even the best part about this property. The best part are the owners, Mara and Carlos , that take hospitality to another level. This are the warmest people that I have ever met as hosts and last year my family has been to 20 countries. Always available, always giving the extra mile… and not to spoil the surprise but you will get some Madeiran gifts. Really 1000/10
