The only thing is good is the location.

− The attitude of the hosts was very bad, I checked out early and left the room and when I returned from a trip they took money from me for a full night's stay. I do not recommend.

El lugar estaba bastante bien cuidado y limpio, el personal muy cordial

− Tenían pocos utensilios de cocina, éramos 10 personas y había solo 2 tazas, no tenían toallas en las habitaciones, (se alquilaban aparte)

Friendly staff. Perfect location - close to the town and all the trailheads. Small showers and kitchen but had everything you needed. Dorms are close to the common area so it can be loud

Budget hostel… yikes

To be honest, for El Chalten this is one of the cheapest hostels so value for money as a backpacker was pretty okay, decent location for all the hiking trails as well! In saying that this is definitely a budget option, this is probably the worst hostel I’ve stayed in and I’ve been travelling in South America for 4 months. It’s very dirty all over, bathrooms and kitchen was horrific. I’m surprised we didn’t get sick staying in the hostel. This hostel could improve majorly with a few small things like; all new kitchen utensils, new plates, renovate the showers and bathrooms etc. Staff wise the cleaner was lovely but the actual hostel ‘managers’ were not that welcoming at all and unhelpful. The hostel was fully booked most nights we were there even in low season (as it’s one of the cheapest options).
