Great location, property has lots of character

Great location; large property so lots of space for the six of us (plus dog); the property has lots of character and well equipped with everything we needed.

− We were unable to stay at the property on 10th to 12th November because my mum (whose 80th birthday we were planning to celebrate on 10th November) was officially diagnosed with cancer on 7th November. She was admitted to hospital on the 8th and the operation took place on the 9th. This was all explained to Cottages.com and Booking.com before, during and after 10th November. Cottages, in a chat on 9th November, said it was up to Booking.com to resolve. Booking.com said they would get in touch with cottages but agreed on principle to change the dates for Feb and would get in touch with Cottages and respond in 48hrs. Booking.com responded 48hrs later on 13th November that they couldn’t get in touch with Cottages. And that was it. I am sure the house is beautiful. It is in a great place. The reason we picked it for her 80th was because she went to primary school in Barbon where here dad was the policeman and then to QEGS in Kirkby Lonsdale where her brother was the policeman later on after they moved to Milnthorpe. I did not want ‘review’ in this way but after phone calls to Booking and Cottages.com, e-mails, feedback to customer service and other methods, we have still heard nothing. We would just like to know if or when, as we were informed we would be nearly a month ago.
