Stunning Location + Unique Property But Perhaps Overpriced
7.0The location and views. The hot tub would be nice if there was privacy but there is a laundry pod regularly used. The uniqueness of the property. The WiFi was good.
− There appeared to be no welcome pack. Just the short email with a few points covered. The TV doesn't move on a mount making it difficult to watch from all but one place on each sofa. The hot tub is overlooked by the laundry pod that was in regular use by cleaners, laundry staff and owners the whole visit. Fencing would be helpful. There is no microwave. You have to pay for all wood which seems tight given the high price of the venue. There was workmen throughout our last day meaning we couldn't use the hot tub. There was no mention this would be happening before booking which we find a little disingenuous. The light at the front door is on a very short timer and should just be on an on/off switch as it's needed for loading and unloading car and dogs etc. It would be much better if we could park right at the front of the property. The ramp/stairs that stop you doing this serve no real purpose and are a trip hazard at night. The outside uplights were on 24/7 not on a timer as mentioned. The TV buttons seemed sticky as if worn out. Suggest a replacement.
Really delightful
10.0It’s just utterly charming and very cosy despite the size of it. Would love to go back
− I’m not sure the booking fee is steep for a booking fee but I think generally booking fees are way over what they should be - I say that having worked in a booking agency
Couples retreat
9.0Beautiful view, unusual space with a story, nice hot tub, great facilities you can see the love in the building.
− Booking was a bit of a faff. So many messages and different payment requests but Nicki was very helpful on the booking.com chat. The temperature had dropped to freezing so it was not easy to make the large space as warm as we might of liked. But there was warm blankets on the sofa to snuggle up with and a lovely comfy warm bed.
We enjoyed the stay, hot tub espeically is a great bonus. We did feel having the owner turn up twice throughout the stay
7.0Very spacious, great views, quiet area
− Paying for wood was a bit disappointing as we feel this should have been included in the price.
Exceptional
10.0Beautiful setting and really lovely building furnished very comfortably with a very well equipped kitchen. The view cannot be fully appreciated from photographs. It is outstanding! Very useful info from the owners and quick to respond to any messages if needed.
− Couldn't find a fault if I tried.
