Great place to relax and bird watch!
10.0This was a beautiful slice of paradise tucked away in a residential area just outside of the downtown La Fortuna. The birdwatching from our balcony was mind-blowing, as well as the beautiful lush gardens and view of Arenal volcano.
We had a great stay here, fresh fruit given to us each morning! Perfect location for all the activities. Peaceful feels

− No daily maid service. This isn’t a dislike so much as a “good to know.”

9.0The apartment was clean and close enough to walk to restaurants and Uber to town. There are actually 2 bathrooms for convenience. There is a cute heart-shaped jacuzzi tub; though it seems to run out of hot water. The garden provided such a wonderful opportunity to watch various birds flying about and up close (including a colorful black toucan). Note: It seems April is nesting season - otherwise there would be even more birds out. The plus side is we had practically zero rain 4/14-4/22. If needed, you can drop luggage at a sister property in La Fortuna. The host is super nice and gave us transportation from there. She can take USD as hotel payment if you don’t have local currency. She also provided water and beer in the fridge.
− There are some gaps in the doors and a window left open in the downstairs bath which may allow bugs to enter. The upstairs bathroom door doesn’t latch to close. The gravel path leading to the apartment makes it a bit hard to walk to/from. The collective sound of cicadas is very loud at times.
Overall, a wonderful place mostly because of the garden and wildlife.
9.0The wildlife viewable from the balcony was awesome. The location was great, and the king size bed was luxurious. Oh, and the hosts are super nice! The small pool is a bonus.
− The kitchen wasn’t really set up for cooking. Also the stairs are a little risky. Not for the elderly.
