It was ok for 1 night
7.0Location
− No privacy, rooms are connecting, no electricity in the morning it was too hot in the room.
A place to experience the local culture in the center of the local community.
8.0The room was pretty and comfortable. A fan was enough to keep me fresh at night. There is a beautiful and calm beach very close to the hostel. Common area with hammocks was great too. Downstairs there is a little shop. They also serve lunches which were delicious!
− The lock on the door was a bit rusty. The owners were friendly, but they didn’t show me around on arrival (to show the toilet, showers, explain food options etc.), so this is something that could be improved :)
Exceptional
10.0
Hotel ok but didn't like the area at all
4.0Rooms are fairly clean, the sea is just in front of the hotel, people are nice. There are a few hamacs, and it seems to be the only hostel with those around.
− It's hard to describe but the environment made us question what we were doing here. There's a place to get in the water but it's not appealing (and definitely no "beach" the little bit of sand is littered), you can go to the public beach but it's highly crowded from 10am to 4pm by day tours, there's nothing much to do and nowhere enjoyable to stay. We didn't try the food but 35mil for a basic lunch seemed overpriced. The accomodation itself is clean but very basic, for example the toilet flush doesn't work. So overall, it's as described, but for that price you get something way better in Rincón del Mar (+ a nicer beach), so my advice would be to only come to Isla Mucura if you have the budget to go to a hotel with a private beach. I gave 3 stars as the issue is more about the "area" than the hotel itself.
Superb
9.0The most important was spend Time with local people. Yulian Is the Best in the customer services.
− The loud music
The time spent was gift to appreciate sea nature and observe islanders’ routines, it was a great experience, highly reco
7.0The location offers a fantastic ocean view as it is shown in photos. Mrs. America, Julien and Sebastian were very attentive and guided us during our stay! Great communication. A community experience at the heart of Puerto Caracol, we really enjoyed it!
− Room cleaning service could be improved!
