For those who like woods and walking (or cycling) and wildlife, this is a great place to stay.
9.0Splendid location - many walks from the door in lovely, shaded woods (important with the outside temperature hitting 30C!). We didn't need to drive more than 5 miles from the location on any day, and several days not at all. Houses of that period do not have large windows letting in too much sun, so it was easy to keep cool inside - very necessary during heatwaves! Equally, I can imagine it is cosy in the winter, with wood-burning stove. We went for a sight of wild boar and were not disappointed. Though they are incredibly secretive, nocturnal animals we did manage a good sight of a sow and piglets and a lone male over the week, in the late evening and early morning, within a few hundred yards of the property.
− Wrong to say that we didn't like it, because we knew, of course, that the cottage only has one bathroom (shower). For a dwelling that sleeps 6 we usually like to book somewhere with an additional en suite. But that is reflected in the very reasonable rental price and, something I did not pick up from the information, there was a second toilet in the garden bike shed. For people of a certain age (shall we say!), that is a definite bonus.

9.0Very close to bike rental and cafe. Cosy with two log burners, well equipped. Good secure bike storage.
− Theres only one bathroom and toilet, but its clean and well appointed with ample hot water so didnt cause any problems

− No snow,only joking,there is nothing we didn't like,that is why it's the 2nd time we have stayed here
